Armenian and Greek Defense Ministers agree upon continuing cooperation in spheres of mutual interest

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and his Greek counterpart Panagiotis Kammenos discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in defense sphere. The delegation headed by Greek Minister of National Defense Panagiotis Kammenos arrived in Armenia on December 16 at the invitation of Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the sides highly appreciated the current level of cooperation and reached an agreement to continue cooperation in the main spheres of mutual interest such as military education, training of peacekeepers and special forces, exchange of experience in maintenance and use of military equipment and so on.

Issues referring to regional and international security were discussed during the meeting.  The Armenian Defense Minister introduced the current situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

Discussing international security issues the sides shared the opinion that the situation in the Middle East seriously threatens the international security and all efforts must be consolidated to struggle against it.
