YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS. Journalism is not about speculations, it is about facts. If there are no facts, there is no basis. The structure will go to pieces without a foundation. The viewpoint belongs to Aram Ananyan, the director of “Armenpress” News Agency. At the Centre for Armenian Studies of Yerevan State University Aram Ananyan stressed that journalism cannot stay away from new technologies and must constantly follow the innovations and be updated.

“However, it does not imply any changes in journalism regulations and laws. Information technologies will change the delivery form; the articles will be more brief, but neither the content nor the quality will be changed.” said Ananyan, adding that any change must be accepted objectively and that solutions must be found taking into account the situation.

“Your reader is your strength. They are your network, you must always be connected to your readers, have an idea of who your reader is. Very often readers can become information providers and also a source of information especially during emergency situations.”, said Aram Ananyan, adding that the most important thing for the journalist and the media is their reputation which is above everything."

In reference to media and business, Aram Ananyan said that business entry into media will heal media and, in case of moving forward by business logic, the process will be longer and more effective. The director of “Armenpress” News Agency said that in this regard, there are certain exceptions, and often media can be a necessity. Consequently the concepts of media, business and value must be combined and each one of them should have its place.
