PM on the sharp rise of the dollar
YEREVAN, 26 NOVEMBE, ARMENPRESS. The sharp rise of the dollar may have both a positive and a negative impact on Armenia. This is what Armenia’s Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said as he touched upon the recent sharp rise of the dollar during a press conference preceding the session of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia. “The rise of the dollar may have a negative impact on the society’s standard of living, but it can also help Armenia’s producers organize production, sell and export their products and create new jobs,” the Prime Minister mentioned, according to “ArmenPress”.
When asked whether the dollar would fall or not, the Prime Minister emphasized that that was within the competence of the Central Bank, which is also responsible for that.
