Turkey threatens US in recognizing Armenian Genocide
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS: In the relations with others states, including the USA, Turkey put to work the blackmail mechanism, keeping on the anti-propaganda in the issue of the Armenian Genocide. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoghlu, hosting the US Ambassador to Turkey John Bass, during the meeting focused on the Armenian Genocide issue and the activities of the Armenian community of the USA connected with the centennial of the Genocide, as well as touched upon the efforts on returning the issue to the US House of Representatives, speaking the language of threats. Armenpress reports that the Turkish Demokrathaber.net informed about it.
Chavushoghlu told the Ambassador with threatening tone that “if “the genocide claims” get legal basis in 2015, Ankara will thoroughly review the relations with the USA”. During the meeting with John Bass, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey presented the key points of the Turkish official theses on the Armenian Genocide, stating that “taking the events as “genocide”, will have a negative impact both on the relations between the two countries and the development of the entire region”. He assured that “the information on 1915, presented in the Turkish archive documents, is completely different from that, presented by the Armenians”.
