Economic activity grows in Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS: The economic activity index in Armenia in January-October 2014 is by 4,2 percent more than that of the same period of the previous year. As reports Armenpress, the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia has introduced the preliminary main macro-economic indicators obtained by the current-operative summary, which describes the country's socio-economic situation. Again the construction sector registered a decline, decreasing by 4,4% (287 billion 214,4 million drams). Within the conditions of the global financial and economic crisis the electricity production sector declined by 0,7% in the previous nine months.
As compared to January-October of 2013, this year the volume of services has increased by 7,2 percent to AMD 895 billion 021 million, while the volume of gross agricultural output – by 6,5 percent to 841 billion 918,5 million drams. Trade turnover has increased by 4,7 percent to 1 trillion 859 billion 448,3 million drams.
