Pan-Armenian «Y-work for peace» launches in Budapest

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS: In Budapest city «Y-work for peace» Pan-Armenian seminar started On 17 November 2014 Pan-Armenian seminar «Y-work for peace» started and will continue until 23 November at the European Youth Centre of the Council of Europe in Budapest, organized by World Armenian Youth Network (WostAYN) with the support of the Council of Europe.

Armenpress reports that the project brought together 31 representatives from Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Austria, Cyprus, Hungary, Great Britain, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Turkey, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through non-formal education the participants will gain knowledge about overcoming conflicts, youth work, activities of international organizations and programs in various fields of Homeland-Diaspora partnership development.  
The "Y-work for Peace" (Youth Work for Peace) seminar was opened by the President of the World Armenian Youth Network Mr. Atom Mkhitaryan. He spoke about the preparation of the project, introduced the facilitators and member organizations of WostAYN. Mr. Balint Molnár, the deputy director Youth Center of Council of Europe, greeted the youth and wished them good luck and emphasized the role of youth initiatives for peaceful conflict resolution.
Minister of Diaspora Mrs. Hranush Hakobyan greeted the participants via video message and the president of World Armenian Congress Mr. Ara Abrahamyan and Deputy-Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Mr. Arsen Karamyan sent messages encouraging young people to hold joint projects and become ambassadors of peace in their countries. World Armenian Youth Network (WostAYN) was founded in 2006 in Yerevan, Armenia.
WostAYN unites 32 youth organizations in Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Hungary, Sweden, Switzerland and Cyprus. WostAYN's goal is to enhance the role of Diaspora youth organizations and young people in their communities, to promote their participation in democratic citizenship and decision-making processes, to develop and strengthen the Homeland-Diaspora partnership.
