YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. The Prosecutor-General’s Office of Georgia filed criminal charges against former President Mikheil Saakashvili, accusing him of illegal actions against the family of businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili and the Imedi television station.

As reports “Armenpress”, in reference to “Georgia Online”, the former President is also accused of breaking up the antigovernment protests in Tbilisi in November 2007.

The announcement came after Saakashvili failed to appear at the Prosecutor-General’s Office, where he had been summoned for questioning on July 28.

Saakashvili left Georgia late last year after his second presidential term expired and is currently staying in Kiev. He wrote on his Facebook account on July 28 that he will "decide himself when to come to Georgia."
