Ministry of Agriculture sees new markets for Armenian agricultural products in CU
YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. The accession of the Customs Union will create great prospects for the exportation of agricultural products from the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Robert Makaryan told it at the course of the press conference convoked on December 13. “This year 2/3 of the volumes of fruit and vegetable exportation was supplied to Russia. It means that our accession to the Customs Union will open wide prospects related to the volumes of the exportation of our agricultural products as well.” Deputy Minister of Agriculture said adding that favorable conditions will be created for the exporting organizations, which will lead to the increase in the exportation of the agricultural products, “Armenpress” reports.
In the result of the negotiations on September 3, 2013 in Moscow the Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin confirmed the aim of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation in the direction of further development of economic integration processes in the Eurasian territory. In that context the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced about the Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union and the necessity of implementation corresponding steps for that aim and in future about participating in formation of the Eurasian economic union. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed his support to the abovementioned decision of Armenia and informed about the readiness of the Russian side to support the process. Serzh Sargsyan noted that this decision is not refusal from dialogue with European organizations.
