YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS: In order to become member of European Union Turkey should establish good relations with its neighbors. Such opinion expressed European commissioner for enlargement and European neighborhood policy Stefan Fule during the meeting with representatives of civil society on July 10. “You should not have any doubts that we do our best and a part of Turkish membership process plans good relations with its neighbors. We call Turkey to continue this process,” said Fule, reports “Armenpress”. He expressed hope that this year will be important in Turkey-EU relations.

EU commissioner said that Turkey and European Union came closer to signing of readmission agreement and beginning dialogue on visa facilitation. “I hope that this positive dynamic will have good reflection on Turkish relations with its neighbors,” Fule said.

Turkey for years negotiates for membership in European Union.

In 1993 Turkey closed Turkish-Armenian border.
