We are interested in Tavitian Fundation to expand scope of its activities – Armenian Premier

YEREVAN, MAY 4, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan received on May 4 the delegation of Tavitian Fund headed by Aso Tavitian, President of the Foundation, and Adm. James Stavridis, Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Government of Armenia.

Greeting the guests the PM thanked for the implementation of educational programs assisted by the Tavitian Foundation in the sidelines of which over 300 government employees have already been trained in the spheres of international relations, economics, law and public policy. “I attach great importance to the cooperation between the Tavitian Foundation and Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. The Foundation enjoys great popularity in Armenia. The reforms and programs of the Government of Armenia are firstly aimed at raising the efficiency of governance. We are interested in the Foundation to expand the scope of its activities in Armenia and the continuity of your programs”, the Head of the Executive said.

Karen Karapetyan presented the reform agenda of the Cabinet, referring particularly to the modernization of the governance system, measures to improve business environment, the activities of the Strategic Initiatives Center operating in the format of public-private partnership.

Aso Tavitian thanked the Premier for the appreciation of his activities, saying “The goal of the Tavitian Foundation is to foster Armenia’s development through educational programs. We are ready to continue and expand the initiatives aimed at capacity building of young specialists”.

The interlocutors exchanged ideas over the development vision and prospects of Armenia, highlighting the role of education in withstanding the existing challenges and the preparation of young professionals with broad worldview and thinking.

The Premier expressed readiness to discuss the possible new programs and support their implementation.
