Online services in Armenia’s social field enable to avoid corruption risks

YEREVAN, APRIL 29, ARMENPRESS. Following the introduction of online services in the social protection field of Armenia, 3000 out of 7400 applications for lump-sum child allowance were submitted online, Artem Asatryan – Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, told reporters on April 29, reports Armenpress.

The Minister said the installation of e-services provided the citizen to use his/her social right staying at home, without additional contacts and problems which is important also from anti-corruption perspective.

“We have taken the first step of structural changes since we provided a chance to receive the lump-sum child allowances online without visiting the Social Security Service. This means that more than 35.000 citizens annually can receive lump-sum child allowance without visiting the regional office”, the Minister said, adding that the works are underway so that the services provided will be complete at this direction.

“Over 1.2 million people are direct beneficiaries of the social protection sector, which means that by transferring them to an electronic system, the corruption risks will significantly decrease and the quality of services provided to the citizens will increase”, Artem Asatryan said.
