YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS. French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron says he plans to attach a priority to establishing close ties with Germany if elected as President of France, reports TASS.

“In a status as new President of France, my first political contact with the head of a foreign state will be with German Chancellor Angela Merkel as I plan to reach the point that France will act jointly with Germany in both the EU-related affairs and the defense issues since we have interests and goals in common”, Macron said in an interview with TF-1 channel.

“As for my first foreign visit, it will be a trip to the French armed forces units operating outside France”, he said.
