3 Armenian movies submitted for “Golden Globe" nomination

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. 3 movies on Armenia are submitted for nomination of “Best foreign film” in the 74th Golden Globe Awards, reports “Armenpress”.

The three movies are the followings: “The Last Inhabitant”, “Hot Country, Cold Winter” and “Earthquake”.

Director Jivan Avetisyan’s “Last Inhabitant” movie has been created by a joint production of 5 countries (Armenia, Lithuania, Sweden, Lebanon and USA). The shooting took place in Nagorno Karabakh, village of Khachmach.

“Hot Country, Cold Winter” movie by Davit Safaryan tells about the negative impact and consequences of the collapse of the Soviet Union on the ordinary citizens.

“Earthquake” movie is about the 1988 December 7 devastating earthquake in Armenia. The story is built around a Russian family living in the Armenian city of Leninankan. Anna Berezhnaya (Maria Mironova) with her son Vanya (Daniil Izotov) and daughter Katya (Anastasia Savkina) awaits the return from prison of her husband (Konstantin Lavronenko) who eight years prior was sentenced to prison for the death of two people in a car accident. Robert, who was in the car, survived and was given a shelter by his relatives.
