Animated movie on King Varazdat’s historic Olympic adventures to be completed 2018-2019
10:14, 25 October 2016YEREVAN, OTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS. The full-length animated movie “Olympicos” by “Robert Sahakyants” Productions will be available in 2018-2019, animator Davit Sahakyants told ARMENPRESS.
According to him, works are currently underway. The movie tells the story of King Varazdat’s athletic adventures, which are based on historic events.
“It’s already the second year as we work on a new full-length movie. It is entirely financed by the Ministry of Culture, while “Sharm” company is undertaking the production process”, Sahakyants said.
Sahakyants hopes the movie will have the same success as “Anahit”.
King Varazdat participated in the Ancient Olympic Games in Greece. Varazdat’s Olympic victory in the bare-knuckle boxing event is known from a surviving memorandum which is now kept at the Olympic Museum in Olympia, Greece.
