YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The draft law on making amendments in the law on the “Structure of the Government of the Republic of Armenia” has been discussed during the extraordinary session in the Parliament, reports “Armenpress”.

Presenting the draft law acting Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan said the draft proposes to rename the Economy Ministry into Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, the Ministry of Transport and Communication into Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources into Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources and remove the Ministry of Urban Development.

“The change in names is associated with the highlight of certain priorities by the new Government, as well as the launch of new approaches”, she said.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov proposed to change the name of the Ministry of Diaspora into Ministry of Diaspora and Repatriation.

“Our strategic goal must be that all Armenians’ views should be directed towards Armenia”, Sharmazanov said.

Arpine Hovhannisyan said the proposal will be discussed.
