YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. Michel Platini, the president of the Union of European Football Associations, will officially propose his candidacy in FIFA presidential election in a few days.

Armenpress informs the abovementioned citing the French “Lequipe”. Platini will be the main contender for FIFA Presidency taking into account that the Frenchman will get confederations’ support.

Sepp Blatter was re-elected as head of football's world governing body on May 29, 2015. However, he resigned 4 days later due to the corruption scandal. He remains in office till a successor is designated.  The elections of the new president will be held on February 26, 2016.
