Prosecutor’s Office initiates criminal case based on Levon Zourabian’s report

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. It turned out in the result of the investigation of the report, submitted by head of Armenian National Congress Levon Zourabian to Republic of Armenia Prosecutor General at the department of investigation of particularly important  cases of General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, that there are sufficient reasons and grounds in the report for initiating a criminal case. As “Armenpress” was informed by General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, according to Prosecutor’s decision, a criminal case has been initiated by elements of crime established by provision 2, part 2, Article 149 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia for apparent obstruction of the  realization of Referendum Commission member’s authorities through financial inducement.

The criminal case has been submitted to Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia for preliminary investigation.

In order to ensure comprehensive, complete and objective  investigation of the criminal case, the prosecutor making judicial supervision instructed to arrest, interrogate as a suspect the abovementioned member of the precinct election commission, based on the originated suspicion on committing the crime, and turn to the corresponding authority in charge for the discussion of termination of member’s authorities, after clarifying the circumstances of the report by the person who had submitted it.
