“Warlick assesses situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border as extremely tense

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. American co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick commented on the current tension on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. “Both Armenia and Azerbaijan report the use of mortars and heavy weapons. If true, it is a dangerous escalation. We must work for peace in Nagorno Karabakh”, “Armenpress” reports that Warlick mentioned this in his Twitter blog.

In the recent days Azerbaijan intensively violates the ceasefire regime both on the Karabakh-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Azerbaijan contact lines. Particularly, the enemy fires at civilian population in Tavush Province. As a result of ceasefire violation contract soldier Hayk Tevosyan was killed and two civilians, mother and son Nazik and Razmik Tumanyans, were injured in Koti community of Tavush.
