Erdoğan confirms interim government
YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed the composition of the interim government. The interim government will be in office until the early elections take place which is scheduled on November 1, 2015.
“Armenpress” reports, citing Today’s Zamam, that two Kurds representing the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) are included in the government for the first time. “Justice and Development” party took 11 posts. The opposition “Nationalist Movement” party got one post. Overall, the government is comprised of the Prime Minister and 26 Ministers. Ahmet Davutoğlu announced that he offered 3 representatives of the pro-Kurdish party to be included in the government. Two of them accepted the offer. HDP's Ali Rıza Konca and Müslüm Doğan were appointed as the minister for European Union Affairs and Development respectively.
Yalçın Akdoğan, Numan Kurtulmuş, Cevdet Yılmaz and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) deputy Tuğrul Türkeş were appointed as deputy prime ministers.
Feridun Sinirlioğlu, undersecretary at the foreign ministry since 2009, was appointed as the new foreign minister.
