Parliament Speaker sends condolences on Gagik Hovhannisyan’s death

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan sent a message of condolences on the death of Gagik Hovhannisyan. Armenpress was informed by the press service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia that the message of Galust Sahakyan says in particular:
“I learnt with deep pain of the death of Gagik Hovhannisyan, author and presenter of “Chess-64” program series, founder and Editor-in-Chief of “Chess Armenia” journal, the Armenia’s Honored journalist, and General Secretary of Armenian Chess Federation.
Gagik Hovhannisyan’s popular chess programs, analyses and comments were real courses for chess amateurs, as well as for future journalists, who he was teaching in the Faculty of Journalism of Yerevan State University for many years. He was the inseparable witness and chronicler of the newest history of the Armenian chess, the permanent guide of the victories of the Armenian national teams of chess, who was able to fully pass the whole joy of the those victories to the sport amateurs with his coverage.
At this grave moment of loss I sincerely express my condolence and address my words of comfort to Gagik Hovhannisyan’s family, close relatives and friends and share their grief”.
