Ambassadors to Armenia listened to performances of Komitas’s songs by Japanese pianist

YEREVAN, 25 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On April 25, the Japanese Embassy in Armenia held a concert at Komitas Museum-Institute for the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of various countries to Armenia. The concert included performances of Komitas’s songs by Japanese pianist Keyiko Shichiyo, who was performing the songs as a tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

 In an interview with “Armenpress”, Acting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Kenichiro Sasame emphasized that Armenian and Japanese cultures are very similar and that the Armenians and Japanese simply need to get to know each other.

 The event was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. The Japanese official mentioned that he had participated in the events commemorating the Armenian Genocide Centennial and voiced hope that Armenia would never witness phenomena like the Armenian Genocide again.
