Armenia’s Deputy PM on Russia-Armenia relations

Armenia’s Deputy PM on Russia-Armenia relations

YEREVAN, 31 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. The relations between Yerevan and Moscow are very constructive, and despite the problems that sometimes arise in the dialogue between the two countries, all those problems are solved in a working atmosphere. Even the murder of the Armenian family in Gyumri didn’t make Armenians have a more negative attitude towards Russia. At the same time, Armenia still has extremely tense relations with its other neighbors, that is, Turkey and Azerbaijan, and it’s rare to see a change soon since there is political will neither in Baku nor in Ankara. As “Armenpress” reports, this is what Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan mentioned in an interview with Lenta.ru.

Gabrielyan viewed the relations between Russia and Armenia as high-level, dynamic and strategic and important for Armenia. When asked how painful it is for Armenia to see Russia selling weapons to Azerbaijan, a country with which Armenia has extremely tense relations, Gabrielyan said it was a very serious issue for Armenia since those weapons can be used against Armenia. The Deputy Prime Minister added that Armenian society currently views Russia’s sale of weapons to Azerbaijan as an unfriendly attitude.
