YEREVAN, 12 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is producing a film called “The Chess Player” (Shakhmatiste), which will included in the almanac of films created on the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This is what Director of the National Cinema Center of Armenia Gevorg Gevorgyan mentioned during a press conference. The director of the film is Aren Vatyan.

“Each country presents a 20-year old renowned figure, including an athlete, a musician or any other famous figure. Armenia will be presenting chess players, that is, Armenia’s Olympic chess team. The hero will be Gabriel Sargsyan. In this film, we’ll be presenting the history of Armenian chess, as well as the prizes that Armenian chess players have won and the victories that they have scored,” Gevorg Gevorgyan mentioned, as “ArmenPress” reports.
