LOS ANGELES, 27 NOVEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The 17^th Telethon of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has kicked off in Los Angeles. According to “ArmenPress”, this year the major goal of the Telethon is to end construction of the new Vardenis-Martakert Highway linking the Republic of Armenia to Artsakh through the combined efforts of all Armenians around the world.

President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan and Deputy Prime Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Artur Aghabekyan are also participating in the Telethon.

Talking about the construction of the Vardenis-Martakert Highway, which is the main goal of Telethon-2014, Bako Sahakyan described it as a program of pivotal, military-political and socio-economic significance for Artsakh and the entire Armenian nation.
