Free trade regime to remain in effect after Armenia’s joining EEP

Free trade regime to remain in effect after Armenia’s joining EEP

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS: The free trade regime signed between Armenia and Georgia will remain in effect, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan said at a press conference on October 15.

In his words, a unique approach has been applied towards Armenia conditioned by two circumstances: “The first one is that we do not have a common border with the EEU members states, and the second one is Armenia’s geographic position that we border four countries, with two of which we have no connection.

Georgia is moving in the direction of the association agreement, but we maintain the free trade agreement signed with Georgia, it remains in effect. There is no change related to that agreement. This is the best example on how countries having joined two different economic unions can cooperate,” Vardan Ayvazyan said.
