YEREVAN, APRIL 22, ARMENPRESS. For the first time the French President François Hollande will participate in the official ceremony dedicated to the Armenian Genocide anniversary on April 24. The French President’s Office confirmed the information. As reports “Armenpress” citing Asbarez, the event dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be held in front of Komitas’ statue in Canada Square in Paris.

The Co-ordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) issued a statement expressing gratitude to the President of France, who will pay tribute to the memory of 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide. Among other things it was stated: “This is a significant event, which must be properly appreciated, taking into consideration France’s international reputation. The presence of the French President shows his loyalty to his commitments.”
