Tigran Mansuryan dreams about Armenian people’s security

YEREVAN, APRIL 18, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Music School named after Sayat-Nova hosted well-known composer Tigran Mansuryan. During the creative evening devoted to him the pupils and teachers of the school introduced to the judgment of the audience and the composer works by Mansuryan. At the course of the event the past way of the well-known composer was introduced, and the pupils of the music school directed issues to maestro.

“At your age I dreamt to write music, writing music would be an award for me,” Tigran Mansuryan stated at the beginning of the meeting, Armenpress reports.

Tigran Mansuryan was born in Beirut and educated in Yerevan, Armenia, where his family had moved in 1947 and settled in Yerevan in 1956. He studied first at the Romanos Melikian Music College under the Armenian composer Edvard Baghdasaryan and later at the Yerevan Komitas Stat Conservatory. His "Monodia" album was nominated for the 2005 Grammy Award for "Best Instrumental SoloistPerformance (with Orchestra)" and "Best Classical Contemporary Composition."
