YEREVAN, MARCH 5, ARMENPRESS: The Department of State of the United States of America published its annual report on foreign allocations for the fiscal year 2015 on March 4, which suggests allocating economic assistance of $20,700,000 to the Republic of Armenia. Armenpress reports, citing the official website of the US Department of State that the total allocation to Armenia will make $24,700,000. According to the report, $1,700,000 will be allocated for assistance to the international drug control and law enforcement agencies, $600,000 – international military education and $1,700,000 – foreign military assistance. By the way the US Department of State has maintained the equality principle of the military assistance provided to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
There is no separate allocation for the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, though usually the financial assistance to Karabakh is provided during the discussions of the budget at the US Congress, in accordance with the Legislative Body’s mandate. The Obama administration has suggested nearly the same assistance for Armenia as in 2014.
