YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Georgian riot police forces have used water cannons to disperse protesters outside the parliament building in Tbilisi, Reuters reports.

One of the opposition leaders Giorgi Vashadze told Reuters that several people, including one opposition politician were detained by police.

The protesters were rallying for electoral system reforms and started a picket outside the parliament. They were trying to prevent parliament for holding a plenary session on Tuesday.

According to Rustavi TV, police did not use force but only “pushed back” the demonstrators using their shields.

Clashes took place while the protesters were being dispersed.

Oppositionists are announcing that they intend to continue the picket.
