YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. New airlines will enter the Armenian aviation market, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee Tatevik Revazyan said at the Cabinet meeting.

“We have eight new confirmed directions, but we plan more than ten until the opening of the summer season. The Russian Azimuth Airlines is opening a flight to Kaluga, it has addressed us: the flights will start from December 14th,” she said.

Speaking about RyanAir’s entry to Armenia, Revazyan said the Irish budget airline has confirmed 4 directions but is planning to add another three. She said the airline will operate two directions to Germany and two directions to Italy starting January 2020.

Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan added that the local aviation market has also expressed interest and more than 10 new directions are expected to open.

“That’s a lot better. If this all becomes reality there will be a revolution in the air transportation,” said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
