YEREVAN, JUNE 2, ARMENPRESS. Stepan Safaryan, founder of the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs, while analyzing US President Donald Trump’s latest statements and actions, his decision to withdraw from Paris climate change deal, thinks that the US is being isolated from world processes and withdraws from global leadership, reports Armenpress.

During a discussion on June 2, the expert said the US stance is not specified in South Caucasus as well, in addition to other regions.

“The United States will be engaged in settling its issues. Donald Trump announced he will no more allow the world to laugh on US. In case when the US significantly cuts the financial assistance provided to third countries, it can be stated that the US, which feeds many countries of the world, is now tired of it”, he stated.

Commenting on Trump’s remarks at the NATO summit in Brussels, Stepan Safaryan said the US wants to increase the responsibility of the remaining NATO member states and to certainly weaken its influence.

Expert at Armenian Center for Democracy, Security and Development Marta Ayvazyan said the new US President has no clear stance on any issue. According to her, Donald Trump’s steps do not correspond to his earlier statements and this creates great confusion. “Trump’s behavior causes major problems for the US. It is possible the world may witness change of the country’s this president, but not in an accepted way”, she stated.
