Park dedicated to Armenian Genocide to be opened in Cyprus’ city of Paphos

YEREVAN, APRIL 29, ARMENPRESS. Park dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims will be opened in the city of Paphos, Cyprus, the Office of Armenian lawmaker of Cypriot parliament Vardges Mahtesyan told Armenpress.

“The idea existed in early 2016. It was adopted unanimously by the Paphos City Hall Council. The public green space located at the corner of the two streets will be called In memory and honor of 1.5 million innocent victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide”, the Office said.

The park’s opening ceremony will be held on April 30. During the ceremony a cross-stone sent from Armenia will be erected in the park.

The opening ceremony will be carried out by Vardges Mahtesyan and Paphos Mayor Phedonas Phedonos.
