YEREVAN, MARCH 20, ARMENPRESS. The regular four-day sitting wasn’t held in the Parliament of Armenia due to the absence of quorum, reports “Armenpress”.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov announced that the March 20 session will not be held since the 3 more hours provided for the registration of MPs are expired but the quorum was not ensured. He recalled that according to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, they had to give a chance to the MPs for the registration until 15:00.

“There is no quorum at the moment, thus, the session will not be held today”, Sharmazanov said.

In the morning of March 20, 34 MPs were registered for participation in the session, however, the quorum requires presence of 66 MPs.

Majority of MPs were absent since they are engaged in the election campaign ahead of the parliamentary election due on April 2.
