YEREVAN, JANUARY 25, ARMENPRESS. The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia notifies it has discovered counterfeit 10,000 dram bills in circulation.

The NSS told ARMENPRESS investigation suggests the counterfeit currency bills have been prepared by a color printing device. The counterfeiters have used actual security strips of 1000 dram bills to make the counterfeit 10,000 bills maximally resemble the real currency. The counterfeit money has been used in various gas stations in provinces of Armenia, at nighttime.

The NSS cautions citizens to pay attention to the security strip and the watermark of the bills.

One man has been charged for counterfeiting money. The NSS is currently taking actions to discover and confiscate the fake money.
