YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS. Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan received EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Herbert Salber on October 20.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Defense Ministry of Armenia, Vigen Sargsyan informed Herbert Salber about the situation on the contact line, the regular ceasefire violations and the recent developments over Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. The sides ruled out any alternative to the peaceful conflict settlement and reaffirmed the necessity to support the mediation efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and confidence building initiatives of the international community.

The Armenian Defense Minister and the EU Special Representative also exchanged ideas over regional and international security issues and discussed the prospects for a defense and security cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
