YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan has a positive attitude to the expected changes in the Government of Armenia.

“I think the expected changes are conditioned by a number of factors. First, the authorities want to mitigate the social-economic situation in the country. The second is bringing into life the new Constitution step by step. In my opinion, Karen Karapetyan is not a bad candidate for ensuring that transition. And finally, the consensus between the authorities and opposition over the Electoral Code: I believe new approaches for a dialogue are being formed in our country”, “Armenpress” reports the political scientist saying. He added that he believes these changes will be effective for Armenia.

Karen Karapetyan’s assuming the post of the Premier was predictable for the political scientist, as Karapetyan has always been in the list of possible candidates.

On September 8 ex-premier of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan announced about his decision to leave the office. On September 13 President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan issued a decree of appointing Karen Karapetyan to the post of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
