YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS. The inaugural ceremony of the monument of Marshal Bgahramyan will take place on May 20 in Oryol, Russia, the administrative office of Oryol informed TASS.

The monument was created by private resources, with a value of 10 million Rubles. Governor Vadim Potomski, veterans and ordinary citizens will attend the inaugural ceremony.

Baghramyan (1897-1982) was a military commander during the battle of Kursk. By his successful military leadership, the cities of Bolokhov and Oryol were liberated in 1943.  In 1955, Baghramyan received the title of Marshal of the Soviet Union.
