Armenia the only CIS member state recording drop in consumer prices

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Consumer prices rose by 14.3% in the Commonwealth of Independent States in September of this year compared to December of the last year. Prices for food products rose by 12.4%. Armenia is the only CIS state where deflation was recorded in September, 2015 compared to December, 2014 which formed 2% for consumer products and 6.2% for food products. Top inflation was recorded in Ukraine where consumer products prices rose by 41.4% and the food products by 34.2%. In Russia inflation stood at 10.4 and 10.2% respectively and 2.6 and 3.4% in Azerbaijan.

“Armenpress” was informed from CIS Interstate Statistical Committee that consumer prices remained unchanged in Armenia in September of this year compared to August of this year, but in the rest of CIS member states average inflation formed 0.7% with the highest inflation in Moldova, 2.1%. The next is Belarus with 1.5% and Ukraine with 1.2%. Monthly inflation in Russia and Azerbaijan formed respectively 0.4 and 0.6%.
