YEREVAN, AUGUST 6, ARMENPRESS. Iran's Ali Akbar Velayati, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's top adviser on international affairs and a former Minister of Foreign Affairs,  announced during the conference in Tehran that Iran wasfaced with the “the extreme requirements of the enemies” in Azerbaijan.

As Armenpress informs, reporting the “Mehr” News Agency, Velayati noted at the Second International Constitutional Revolution Conference that the Syrians were not trapped by the U.S. and regional regressive regimes.

Ali Akbar Velayati said:

“Iran faced extreme demands from the enemies especially in Azerbaijan and, in spite of that, is now on the path of development led by the Islamic Republic wise authorities.”

Velayati did not specify what enemies he met in Azerbaijan.

He added that Iran would not remain unresponsive to the fates of other countries in the region. He said that Iran must help these countries “without any preconditions” for Iran’s national security interests and retaining peace with those countries. Velayati added that Iran supports the societies in Yemen, Iraq and Syria, hinting at Tehran policy supporting the Shia in the region.
