YEREVAN, 20 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The recent attempt to form a large group of Armenian Genocide scholars has been successful, and the number of scholars is almost as much as those studying the Holocaust. This is the observation that famous Israeli psychologist and genocide expert, Executive Director of the Institute of the Holocaust and Genocide Israel Charny made in the book “Encyclopedia of Genocide”. According to “Armenpress”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a collection of extracts that includes parts from the books of leading Armenian Genocide scholars.

Defining ‘genocide’, Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma Michael Taylor mentions that the Holocaust is not the only genocide of the 20th century and emphasizes that some of the genocides of the previous century could have been prevented, if the international community had intervened.

Professor at the University of Sorbonne and author of books devoted to the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide, Yves Teron mentions that the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the leaders of the Ottoman Empire has been considered the “final solution” to the issue that has been prolonged for 40 years and still hasn’t been solved.
