Armenia’s National Competitiveness Foundation attends Global Competitiveness Summit

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. On November 21-22, 2013, the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia participated in the Global Competitiveness Summit and 2013 GFCC Annual Meeting.

The Public Relations Office of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that leaders of public and private sectors of around 33 countries and representatives of international organizations attended the event.

Within the framework of the summit, the delegation of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia presented the competitive airline services strategy recently adopted by the RA Government.

The NCFA CEO Arman Khachatryan shared practical approaches on the airline services competitiveness with His Excellency Oh-Seok Hyun, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Strategy and Finance. Discussions were held on the exchange of Korean experience in aviation sphere and the idea of potential entry of Korean aviation companies into Armenia. An agreement was made to jointly examine the opportunities and perspectives of cooperation.

The National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia is a public-private entity established in 2008 through a partnership between the Government of Armenia and a group of global business leaders of Armenian descent.

The mandate of the Foundation is to achieve international competitiveness through development in key areas of economic activity.

With this goal the foundation mobilizes strategic investments and implements programs vitally important for the economic development of Armenia.

The National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia carries out its activities with the vision of building a knowledge-based economy through bringing together the national capacity of Armenia and Diaspora.

The main target spheres of the Foundation are Healthcare, Tourism and Education - sectors where there is great potential for development and clear competitive advantage at the global and regional levels.

The projects implemented by the Foundation are based upon the principle of public-private partnership.
