YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS: Recently the escalation of violence has been registered on the Line of Contact between Nagorno-Kharabakh and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan continues to vioalate the cease-fire agreement. In response to Armenpress' question what is the assessment of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk of this situation, he said that both sides have reported servicemen killed in recent weeks. These tragic incidents serve no purpose, other than to emphasise the need for further arrangements to strengthen implementation of the ceasefire, which will allow for further progress toward a peaceful settlement. Andrzej Kasprzyk stressed that at the end of October, the sides agreed in principle on a draft mechanism to investigate incidents along the front lines: its implementation should discourage further violation of the ceasefire and mitigate the risks of reprisal and escalation associated with such incidents.
