YEREVAN, MARCH 29, ARMENPRESS. The UN's top court has ordered Israel to enable the unhindered flow of aid into Gaza in order to avert a famine, BBC reports.

In a unanimous decision, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) said Israel had to act "without delay" to allow the provision of “urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance”.

This follows warnings that famine could hit Gaza within weeks.

According to the report, Israel has called allegations it is blocking aid "wholly unfounded".

Israeli foreign ministry said that Hamas was to blame for the situation in Gaza and for starting the war.

According to Euronews, the International Court of Justice issued two new so-called provisional measures in a case brought by South Africa accusing Israel of acts of genocide in its military campaign launched after the 7 October attacks.

Israel denies it is committing genocide and accused South Africa of trying to “undermine Israel's inherent right and obligation to defend its citizens.”
