Armenian PM’s spokesperson comments on incident in Milan involving Azerbaijani “blogger”

MILAN, NOVEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Armenian prime minister’s spokesperson Vladimir Karapetyan commented on the incident in Milan when a man identifying himself as an Azerbaijani blogger asked a question to PM Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting with the Armenian community representatives.

“The meeting took place in an Armenian church, and as you know the entrance is free for everyone. Of course, during such meetings necessary security measures are needed and have been carried out, but at the same time, no checks of passports and other documents were done. That person was trying to loudly ask his question. The Armenian PM enabled him to ask the question and then gave a thorough response. I would not call this Q&A as an incident”, the spokesperson told reporters in Italy.

On November 20 Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the Armenian community representatives in an Armenian church in Milan on the sidelines of his official visit to Italy. Pashinyan answered to the questions of the meeting participants, as well as that of the Azerbaijani blogger who entered the Church. “It’s impossible to imagine a situation when an Armenian could have the opportunity to enter a place, meeting where Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev would be present and asked him a question. Secondly, you said that the entire world has recognized the genocide against Azerbaijanis, but it’s an obvious lie, since even former president of Azerbaijan gave an interview saying that the Khojaly incidents were organized by the opposition of Azerbaijan to achieve changes and revolution in Azerbaijan. I have suggested a concept for peace. I have told Ilham Aliyev that I am the 1st Armenian leader to announce that any solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be acceptable for the peoples of Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan. I suggest that Azerbaijani president should also make a similar announcement, since it’s the main concept and platform for regional stability and peace”, Pashinyan said.

Currently the identity of that man, presenting himself as Ata Abdulayev, is being questioned in Armenian social networks. There are several versions based on the photos of Abdulayev where he is seen together with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev or is actively engaged in dispersing anti-government protests in Baku. According to some rumors, Abdullayev is either a secret service agent, a police officer or a provocateur.
