PM Pashinyan receives Secretary-General of World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister o0f Armenia NIkol Pashinyan received on November 18 Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya. Hje is in Armenia to participate in a regional conference headlined “Digital solutions for cross-border cooperation and trade facilitation”.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the PM welcomed Kunio Mikuriya’s visit to Armenia and his participation in the conference, which speaks about the effective cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the World Customs Organization. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the partnership of Armenia with the organization fosters customs reforms in Armenia. According to the PM, the Armenian Government implements serious reforms in the sphere of customs aimed at the creation of favorable conditions for business.

Noting that he is glad to visit Armenia for already the 4th time, the Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization reaffirmed the readiness to develop cooperation with the Armenian Government. He highlighted the holding of the conference in Yerevan and welcomed the reforms of Armenia in the sphere of customs. According to Kunio Mikuriya, as a country with serious achievements in the IT sector, Armenia’s success can be encouraging for the other member states of the organization.

The sides expressed views on the possibilities of holding 2020-2021 IT conference of the World Customs Organization in Armenia.
