Deputy Speaker Lena Nazaryan holds meeting with Prince Radu of Romania

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament Lena Nazaryan held a meeting today with Prince Radu of Romania.

“I hosted Prince Radu of Romania at the National Assembly. After a long halt Armenia’s political, economic and cultural relations with Romania are starting to activate little by little: Among the good news is that there are Bucharest-Yerevan direct flights three times a week. The next good news is that in September this year both chambers of the Romanian parliament adopted the law “On Declaring October 12th the Day of Armenian Language, Alphabet and Culture in Romania”, for which I expressed our gratitude. In addition, we have a very actively functioning Armenian-Romanian parliamentary friendship group, with lawmaker Anush Beghloyan heading it from our side. And in 2018 the parliament of Romania ratified the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, for which I also expressed our gratitude and hope that Romania will be a good partner in our relationship with the European Union.

The issue of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by parliaments of the world remains one of the most important agendas, which is directly connected with the most important agenda of all countries of the world – the protection of human rights. Therefore, we expect that Romania will officially accept the undeniable fact of the Armenian Genocide. Sooner or later,” Nazaryan said in a statement published through her official Facebook account.
