Armenian President attends enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito of Japan in Tokyo
15:07, 22 October 2019YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian together with spouse Nouneh Sarkissian attended the enthronement ceremony of new Emperor of Japan Naruhito in Tokyo, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.
The ceremony was attended by delegates from 183 countries, including royal families, heads of state and government, other high-ranking officials, heads of international organizations.
Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe delivered congratulatory remarks at the ceremony.
Emperor Akihito, 85, stepped down this year in April. Starting from May 1, his eldest son Crown Prince Naruhito, 59, became a new emperor.
