YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Defense of Armenia Davit Tonoyan held a meeting on October 17 with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar.

“The meeting was aimed at discussing issues related to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and regional security. The Armenian Defense Minister presented to the interlocutor the existing situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact and the recent developments. In turn Toivo Klaar reiterated the EU’s unconditional support to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship’s mediation mission and the efforts for an exclusively peaceful resolution of the NK conflict under its auspices. The interlocutors emphasized the necessity for establishing an atmosphere conducive to the conflict’s peaceful resolution. Davit Tonoyan and the European Union’s high raking delegate also touched upon other issues related to regional security", the defense ministry said in a readout.
