YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has appointed Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS) Eduard Martirosyan to serve as interim director of the NSS.
The PM also appointed Deputy Police Chief of Armenia Arman Sargsyan to serve as interim Police Chief.
“Let me inform that this is a status defined under Armenian legislation and our colleagues in this status have full authority to lead the two systems. I would like to wish good luck and congratulate our colleagues. We are formally waiting the signing and publishing of these orders by the president,” the PM said at today's Cabinet meeting.
NSS Director Artur Vanetsyan and Police Chief Valery Osipyan were both sacked by the PM recently. Osipyan was later appointed to serve as chief advisor of the PM.
