Results of pilot program to observe tomato moth in Armavir and Ararat provinces summed up

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The representatives of the agricultural sector of Armenia’s economy ministry and the National Agrarian University visited Vosketap community of Ararat province and Aknalich community of Armavir province to observe the harvest and sum up the results of the monitoring program of south-American moth in tomato via pheromone traps, the ministry told Armenpress.

Based on the observation results it became known that tomato fruits and plants are free from moths.

Program beneficiary farmers Sargis Muradyan and Armen Misakyan expressed satisfaction over the project results. They expressed hope that such programs will be continuous.

Within the frames of the program field seminars were held in the communities during which the effective ways to fight against moths were presented.

The program is implemented by the National Agrarian University of Armenia foundation which acts as a consultant. Within the frames of the program pheromone traps for moths were installed in 10 ha land of these two communities.
